Introduction

A certificate of liability insurance (COI) is a document which confirms that a business has sufficient coverage in case of personal injury or property damage. It’s vital for any new business, and it’s especially important in the food industry. Having this COI will help you protect your assets so that you can stay open for business after an accident.

How do I get a certificate of certificate of liability insurance?

  • You must have a certificate of liability insurance (also known as an “endorsement”) before you can legally provide your services to clients.
  • Your insurance company will provide you with this document, and they should be able to send it to your client directly if needed.
  • The process is usually simple: tell them what work needs done, then sign and send the endorsement back via mail or email once everything is agreed upon in writing between yourself and the client.
